Anxiety in a Junior School classroom
Anxiety in a Junior School classroom is something that should always be addressed because learning happens best when children feel accepted, relaxed and involved.
At this age, pupils want to make their teachers proud, so it needs to be modelled that this pride comes from giving it a go, not from needing to be perfect in each response.
When pupils know that they will be accepted, cared for and loved, regardless of their results, then anxiety naturally diminishes.
