Grandparents’ Day 2025

By School News No Comments

Honouring the love and wisdom of our grandparents

We were delighted to welcome our grandparents to campus for our annual Grandparents’ Day celebrations. The occasion began with a vibrant performance by our Senior School Marimba bands, after which our Grade 7 leadership pupils warmly ushered grandparents to their tables for tea and entertainment.

The highlight of the morning was watching their mini Marist grandchildren shine on stage. Each class performed with joy, followed by the entire Pre-Primary joining together in songs that celebrated grandparents, peace and South Africa. Our Foundation Phase Choir added their beautiful voices, offering grandparents a glimpse of the exciting next chapter their grandchildren will enter at St Joseph’s.

Families also spent meaningful time together in the classrooms, taking part in activities that highlighted the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren. This tradition strengthens our family spirit and sense of togetherness that lies at the heart of our Marist community.

At St Joseph’s Marist College, we deeply value the love, wisdom and kindness that grandparents bring into our learners’ lives, and we are proud to celebrate their role in shaping our Marist family.

Grade 9 Subject Choice evening

By Uncategorized No Comments

At St Joseph’s Marist College we are committed to guiding learners towards bright futures beyond Grade 12. We were pleased to have a guest speaker from UCT, as well as a psychometrist joining us at our Grade 9 Subject Choice evening, along with other tertiary institutions of learning, in order for our pupils to make good choices in terms of their future career paths and the subjects required. Our Grade 11 pupils were available at each subject table, along with their teacher, in order to provide the Grade 9s with practical information about each subject.

The music department also showcased their talent in this well-rounded celebration of academics.

What makes us different:

Fully Independent | Pre-Primary to Matric | Small Classes | Family Values

St Joseph’s Marist College is a multicultural, fully co-ed school that extends from Pre-school to Matric. In addition to mainstream classes, the College also offers Montessori classes from Pre-Primary to Grade 6.

The College’s beautiful buildings and grounds mirror its harmonious character, as well as the family atmosphere it exudes from the moment you step through its gates.

In the Marist tradition of its founder, St Marcellin Champagnat, St Joseph’s provides an education that is academic, spiritual and morally formative in nature, and where each child is given the opportunity to be the very best he/she can be. Creative and critical thinking underpins all learning activities, and pupils are encouraged to develop beyond the curriculum. From the classroom to the sports field; from the concert hall to the chapel, St Joseph’s Marist College shows that learning can be real, relevant and fun!
