St Joseph’s Marist College Scholarship Programme is based on academic, cultural and sports achievement and is offered to Grade 7 pupils for Grade 8 the following year through to Grade 12. The scholarship exam is written in the first term of every year.
In the Junior School, scholarships are awarded in the Intermediate Phase.
Awards are made considering the following aspects:
- Academic achievement - a written exam covering Mathematics, English and Critical Thinking.
- All-round contribution to the school: successful, short-listed candidates are required to attend an interview with a panel of teachers and the Head of the College. The purpose of this interview is to assess the all-round contribution that the applicant could make to the school.
Scholarships are renewable each year dependent on satisfactory academic performance, behaviour and contribution to the College in the form of sport and/or cultural activities.
Parents of scholarship winners are expected to become as involved as possible in the life of the school and to contribute to it through the use of their own talents wherever possible and appropriate.
The exam for the Scholarship Programme for the 2018 intake of Grade 8 pupils will be written on Saturday 11 March 2017. Please see the pdfs below for relevant information and application forms.
